Never-too-late-ember

The time for action is now. It's never too late to do something. —
Antoine de Saint Exupery

Folks, sadly, it’s nearing the end of October and as of now, the 30th, I’ve read exactly 0 spooky books.

As much as I would love to marathon some spooky reads, I need to admit to myself that it’s not going to happen. Ya girl needs to rest up so that her trick-or-treating game is stronger than ever before.

Thankfully, I have a plan to still get a sufficient amount of spook in before 2018 is over…

As they say, if you can’t join ’em, do exactly what they did a month later!

Yes, that’s right, scratch Spooktober, it’s Never-too-late-ember!

No-spook-ever is perfectly valid as well, we love our non-spook-interested friends!

Never-too-late-ember Guidelines:

  1. Try to read a spooky book or spooky books!

There are no required reads for Never-too-late-ember.

Never-too-late-ember is for everyone and I’ll be really happy if you participate, even though I’ll be equally thrilled if you spread the word or just read this post!

What am I attempting to read for Never-too-late-ember?

  1. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman.

This book is cursed, guys! Every single time I try to read it, I get sick! That just makes it perfect for Never-too-late-ember…This go around, sheer will is going to protect me from illness. Heads up: I couldn’t find any  TWs from people who have actually read the book, but I know that The Graveyard Book definitely contains murder and death.

2.  Carrie by Stephen King

My dad’s favourite novelist is Stephen King, so I decided to put Carrie on my list and see if lit preferences are genetic! TW (not yet validated by me): bullying, blood, child abuse, racial slurs, psychological abuse through religion, fire, death, animal cruelty, rape

3.  A Murder is Announced by Agatha Christie

I’ve been working through this for a long time, and I really want to finish it, especially because I was Hercule Poirot, detective extraordinaire, and another figment of Agatha Christie’s imagination for Halloween this year. TW: I’m so sorry, guys. I couldn’t find any TWs listed in reviews, but I’ll come back and update once/if I finish this book.

That’s all for now! I may be making a Never-too-late-ember video so stay tuned. Are you going to participate in Never-too-late-ember? Thanks for reading!
